The Algae Biomass Summit, the official conference of the Algal Biomass Organization and the algal industry's premier global conference drew close to 800 attendees to this year's three-day event held on October 7-9, 2009 in San Diego, California. In December 1979, Thomas Byrne organized Byrne, Anfinson & Co., together with three other certified public accountants. Mr. Byrne purchased the shares of the others in 1982 renaming the business Byrne & Company Limited. Under his leadership, a diversified firm was established handling taxes, certified audits, reviews, and compilations.

For the past fifteen years, Byrne & Company Limited has advised and assisted the agricultural industry in building towards the future. In 2003, Mr. Byrne sold the tax and accounting portion of the company to AgStar Financial Services. This enabled the company to completely focus its attention and energy on assisting with the growth and development of the renewable fuels industry.

Byrne & Company Limited is headquartered in Preston, Minnesota.
